Lune is a lamp designed as part of the Massey 300 level product development paper. The project was run collectively by 25 students who designed and manufactured 26 working lamps over the semester.
While I was not involved with the direct design of this lamp, I was in charge of managing our finances. I managed collectively over $6,000 of student money, and was in charge of reimbursing students for their project related purchases, paying invoices, keeping track of receipts and making sure every team was on budget. I did this through keeping detailed spreadsheets and meeting regularly with our team leads to make sure we were on budget.
I was involved in the direct manufacturing on the lamps, spending a number of days helping with sand casting the metal bases of our lamps, and filing metal tubing for the stems. I was also involved in the early stages of electronic research and switchboard sourcing.
