Affinity Candles was developed for the 200 level Koha studio paper at Massey. The brief was to design a beautiful 'vessel' that could be manufactured to produce six identical objects. We spent time learning to create molds and casting in workshop sessions, so I chose to use this method to create my candle holders.
I 3D printed the two shapes separately to create the master for a mold. I then casted the shapes with resin and liquid plastic, before joining them together with small dowels.
